Doula | Fertility & Family-Building Advocate | Marketing & Community Strategist

Hello! I’m Maria José Garro, mother to an amazing 8-year-old daughter, fertility and birth doula, and a passionate advocate for informed, supported, and empowered family-building journeys.

My professional path is uniquely shaped by the intersection of maternal health, fertility support, and family-building services. Throughout my career, I have worked as a Marketing Manager with organizations dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate some of life’s most meaningful transitions, including SeedTrust Escrow, GATHER Records, Orchid Technologies, and Vesta for Families. Through these experiences, I have supported intended parents, surrogates, donors, and families from diverse backgrounds, gaining a deep understanding of the emotional, practical, and human aspects of creating and growing families.

My journey into birth work became deeply personal after the home birth of my daughter. That transformative experience inspired me to explore a more holistic approach to health, motherhood, and reproductive wellness. Since then, I have dedicated myself to supporting families through fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with a blend of evidence-based education, compassionate care, and respect for each family’s unique values and choices.

As a doula, I believe every person deserves access to information, autonomy, and a supportive community throughout their reproductive journey. Whether supporting a family preparing for conception, navigating assisted reproduction, welcoming a baby, or adjusting to life after birth, my goal is to create safe spaces where people feel heard, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions.

My work is guided by the belief that family-building is not simply a medical or biological process—it is a deeply human experience. By combining my background in reproductive health advocacy, family-building services, and holistic maternal care, I strive to bridge the gap between information and emotional support, helping families navigate each stage with confidence, clarity, and connection.

I am committed to honoring every family’s story and walking alongside them with empathy, knowledge, and respect. Because every family deserves to feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout the journey of bringing new life into the world.

Doula | Maternity Companion & Women’s Rights Advocate

Hello! I’m Rosita, a Doula certified through Mamásol in 2024, a maternity companion, and an advocate for women’s rights throughout the transformative experiences that shape life, body, and identity.

My work is rooted in the belief that every woman deserves to experience motherhood with access to information, respect, autonomy, and a supportive community that uplifts her. I provide compassionate, personalized, and educational support, creating safe spaces where women can ask questions, express their emotions, recognize their strength, and make informed decisions about their bodies, their experiences, and their families.

I believe that supporting motherhood also means honoring a unique story. Every pregnancy, birth, postpartum journey, and reproductive experience is shaped by individual realities that deserve to be heard without judgment and met with sensitivity. For this reason, my practice is grounded in active listening, perinatal education, human rights advocacy, and a deep respect for the diverse experiences that exist within motherhood.

Inclusion is a value that guides both my life and my professional practice. My training in Conversational Costa Rican Sign Language (LESCO) has expanded the ways I connect and communicate with others, reinforcing my commitment to creating more accessible, participatory, and respectful spaces for all families.

I support women with the conviction that knowledge empowers, that tenderness can also be a form of resilience, and that a supported woman can navigate her journey with greater confidence and freedom. My purpose is to walk alongside each mother—not to direct her path, but to help her recognize the strength, wisdom, and capacity that already live within her.

Because motherhood should never be experienced in isolation, but through support, community, and the full exercise of one’s rights.
